I use Mycelium Flow every day. In fact, I used it to talk through the design you’re looking at. It grew out of a practical wish: to say what I’m thinking and keep moving.
This is the project I’ve put the most into, refined through everyday use. The work is in making that short path from thought to text feel dependable enough to become a habit.

Push-to-talk dictation for the Mac. Hold a key, speak, release, and the text lands at your cursor in whatever app you were already typing in — no window to switch to, no transcript to copy out of.
Transcription happens on the machine, which is the entire point: the audio never goes anywhere. It lives in the menu bar as a small Swift app supervising a Go core.
It is a finished app now rather than something to build yourself: download it, drag it to Applications, pick a speech model on first launch, and that is the last thing it ever fetches. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.
